What is Divisibility Rule of 16 ?

A number is divisible by 16 if the last four digits of that number are divisible by 16.

If the last four digits are divisible by 16, then that number is divisible by 16. If the last four digits are not divisible by 16, then that number is not divisible by 16.

Is 658320 divisible by 16?
Solution:

Given number is 658320. It’s last four digits number is 8320.
To check if number is divisible by 16 or not, we need to check if 8320 is divisible by 16 or not.
Since 8320 is divisible by 16, given number 658320 is also divisible by 16.

Example 2

Check if 244176 is  divisible by 16 or not.
Solution:

Given number is 244176. It’s last four digits number is 4176.
To check if number is divisible by 16 or not, we need to check if 4176 is divisible by 16 or not.
Since 4176 is divisible by 16, given number 244176 is also divisible by 16.

Example 3

Is 21315 divisible by 16 ?
Solution:

Given number is 21315. It’s last four digits number is 1315.
To check if number is divisible by 16 or not, we need to check if 1315 is divisible by 16 or not.
Since 1315 is NOT divisible by 16, given number 21315 is also NOT divisible by 16.
